Sol-2-Soul my brothers and sisters. Welcome to one more day above ground in the Simulatrix.
We, meaning the Trinity behind this channel, have not gotten to the point where we start “tagging,” or “calling out” other accounts. Not in celebratory ways, and certainly not in critical ways. Sometimes we roll the eyes at some of these posts, but we get the vibe. We, (carbon units), are dealing with our own human experiences, and there are, possibly millions of inner & inter-connected forces behind every sentence posted. So even as the eyes roll, Heart/Mind is wondering, “What brought this on?”
Sometimes we detect parallels in the shared experiences.
Here’s the driving comparison.
Earlier versions of this envity were tense, impatient, highly competitive, and full of emotional forces that could, in hindsight be packaged as “general anger.” These and other negative vibrations manifested in my driving. Relatively speaking, I was a skilled driver. Still am, especially now, having exorcised the demons of the past. Those skills, plus guardian angels, kept me away from wrecks, and moving violations. But I still did some arrogant, impatient shit on the streets of Philadelphia.
The funny thing is, I’m driving, even when I’m walking. If that makes sense. I am behind the wheel of every vehicle in sight. Possibly, because I walk so much, I’m always gauging and evaluating the traffic. But I do the same thing when I’m riding the trolley. Mind doesn’t believe in empathy, however, we certainly feel like we can predict which driver, in which vehicle is going to do some dumb shit behind the wheel. Because we’ve been there, and done that. These crazy, impatient drivers haven’t done anything retro-self has not done. However, it’s the uber-safe, scared-to-death drivers that are the most dangerous. But that’s another adventure.
Walking road rage. I swear I used to get road rage when I was walking down the street because I was always watching drivers trying to beat the traffic. There are still some latent demons hovering around, and if I’m not careful, diligent even, they will find a way in to the psyche and disturb my groove.
Anyway, (I really like the “anyway” transition), it’s the same way when I’m cruising the Stacks. Humans share opinions and experiences, and I’m like, “Me too.” I’ve had a similar experience and We feel like we should engage. But then, there’s that matrix behind the post.
The rhetorical question.
“Well, I really didn’t want an answer to my question. I was really, just like, venting.”
Or, they honestly don’t know how to engage with disembodied specters on social media. The so-called, “digital natives,” that not only grew up with social media, but have been immersed in it. They would certainly have a different “culture” that guides their decisions. They would certainly have had experiences that would fashion their interactive style. Many of these experiences have probably bypassed your humble vagabond, so we would not be sensitive to them.
The unknown unknowns.
There are certainly enough accounts, quite possibly human-driven, (but maybe we’re engaging with different humans posting under a common “user-name”), that are not timid about posting their trauma, phobias, insecurities, and anxieties. But we get the impression that this is some kind of cybernetic Munchhausen syndrome.
Spill my guts for attention.
Here’s a peculiar note. We sometimes encounter a post, algo-driven most certainly, that implies that this is a small and obscure account and no one is reading their posts. But there are a few hundred hearts approving the post. This pops up too much not to be random. It feels like bait.
There’s a lot of stuff your humble scribe does not know about social media. We first climbed on board in 1994. But we never lived here. We did not keep up with every new program or paradigm upgrade. We have never taken online courses, had to submit essays and articles to portals, or anything like that. We did make videos, comic strips, watch movies, lectures and lots of chats. We’ve closed the circle between cyber-friends and “IRL” meet-ups. We’ve literally traveled the world meeting chat room friends, and met IRL friends we can remain in touch with today, thanks to social-media.
But back to where we started.
There are some very interesting and exciting ideas that are circulating around the stacks, and some of the other blogs where be post our vagabond content. I must admit, that very little of this stuff is new to your boy. This vessel has been around for a minute. We’ve been curious even through the anger years. So when an investigative reporter wants to “expose” a forty year old “conspiracy,” we applaud. We scan, because maybe they have uncovered something that we missed, while we were living through the scandal. When a podcast wants to dig into the stories behind our favorite sci-fi TV series, we watch, but rarely learn anything new. (Not that there’s nothing new to learn, there are just wider gaps these days.)
We’ve rambled on, as usual. We’re not sitting in an ivory tower. Quite the contrary, we are, so to say, amongst the masses. Maybe it’s a gift, maybe it’s paranoia, or maybe it’s that “empathy thing” that we don’t believe in, somehow we are getting vibes about certain accounts that informs us of our level of participation.
You know what I mean?
Stay sane, stay strong, stay safe, stay savvy, stay serene, stay sovereign, stay subscribed.
