The behavior of my "novacadian AT gmail DOT com" address is frustrating, although it is bothering me more and more using Google services at all.
If you could get a PayPal friendly email to me it would be great to be able to make a gas fund contribution. One easy, and private, way would be to use the memo field of the steem transfer option of your wallet. By placing a hash sign (#) at the beginning of the data field it encrypts the entry so that only the sender and receiver of the transfer can decypher the contents of the field.
For example let"s say your PayPal friendly address is [email protected]. Then go to your steem wallet and click on the drop down menu to transfer steem.
When you click on Transfer will bring you to the Transfer to Account screen.
You can send to me 0.001 steem (the minimal transfer) and in the memo field, leaving no spaces at the beginning of the entry:
(Of course use your real email address when sending your actual Transfer)
One dApp that is helpful to decypher such memo fields is:

However for this exercise you need only send the transfer and then a PayPal transfer can be returned without sending your email address to the entire internet. 😎
