And this quote from Kafka was indeed after my own heart. While I do read for pleasure sometimes—that is a guilty pleasure for me. I yearn for books that can shape my world, even if it's by a small margin. The collective human knowledge and experiences are documented in books, may it be aesthetics, arts, history, science, and so on. There is no way to acquire those in one lifetime all by oneself, for that we must read. I don't consider reading as a great vocation though, for not all books are of the same importance, magnitude or greatness. What a person reads matters the most than how much they read.
