TV in Alaska in the 80's was probably just as bad. Some places you were eventually able to get cable TV, but others not so much. My dad's house well outside the city was one such place, and stuck with our dinky little TV antenna we could get maybe three channels well enough to watch. But on the other hand, at least that gave us motivation to spend more time outside. 😉
