It's my opinion that one man or woman improving their physical & financial self-sufficiency (even by a small amount) and taking charge of their life does more to improve the country than thousands of votes. The way I see it, many people nowadays have lost any sense of purpose or identity, and that void makes them desperate to find something to give them meaning. Thus for many people voting has taken the place of a symbolic ritual with over-inflated importance.

People who have a strong sense of self and purpose tend to not focus on such things.
