Here in Mongolia the options for homeschooling are very limited, on par with some of the strictest of the US states. Technically it's a gray area without clear boundaries, and it sounds like the local education officials get to set the rules as to what's "acceptable" for homeschooling.

The plus side is that there's practically no chance police would be sent to someone's house for not having their kid in school. And a more recent positive development is Covid-19 forced the schools here to provide online & televised instruction, and I think this will become more of a regular thing as time goes on. There's been no outbreaks in the country thus far so IMO the government officials don't need to restrict standard schooling for health reasons, but this is an overreaction that I'm not going to complain about! 😉
