I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the US gov't has a few agencies actively taking their 'PSYOP' mission into manipulating the conversation in various online public forums and social media spheres. They shouldn't be doing it, but as far as gov't overreach that's not even close to the worst things they do. I do remember news reports of the UK government (via GCHQ) getting outed in the press for doing that. Not sure if that means the UK's troll operations are bigger or if the US is just better at being sneaky about it. 🙄
