Little by little, they moved forward, still without electricity. Everything was plunged into complete darkness, and thousands of people remained, waiting for some kind of answer. Their excitement began to turn into uncertainty. Meanwhile, the band was still gathered backstage, tired and sweaty, each thinking about the five days of effort and preparation, but none of them wanted to give up. At that moment, Lucas simply stared at his guitar, knowing that this concert could become one of the most important moments of his career, and he didn't want it to end like this.
Michelle paced back and forth until she said, "We don't know when the power will come back on, but we can decide how long we're going to wait." They all looked at each other and decided they would wait for the power to return so they could give the concert they had dreamed of, and above all, give the audience the show they had prepared all week. They wanted Ciudad Guayana to experience a night they would never forget when the lights came on.
The stadium was pitch black, and the only lights visible were those of cell phones. It was incredible to see thousands of tiny points of light begin to appear among the audience. Michelle peeked out and saw them, amazed, and said, "We have to go on." The whole band agreed, and little by little, they made their way onto the stage in the darkness. For a few seconds, no one knew what was happening, but then came the applause and shouts, and the sound grew louder and louder, thrilling all the band members.
Lucas raised his guitar, Richard lifted his drumsticks, and Tomás started recording the moment, while Michelle stood in the middle of the stage and began to speak: "Ciudad Guayana, we know you're all waiting for the concert, and these are situations beyond our control, but we assure you that we have a great show for each and every one of you, and we're not going anywhere." The audience applauded loudly; it was a truly special moment. Michelle took the microphone again —When the power comes back on, we're going to give you the concert we came to give—La Banda 17 stayed on stage for a few seconds and although no one knew how long it would be before the electricity returned, everyone was clear about one thing: the night was not over yet.
