It is almost impossible to write the story of my life without dedicating a chapter to hive (the blockchain). Hive literally got me through one of the darkest points in my life financially. I am able to live a full and decent life today thanks to this amazing community.
Discovering hive was my eureka moment. I did not need much convincing because I knew I had found what I was looking for and I have pursued it ever since and it has been a worthwhile experience.
I was fortunate enough to discover hive in my third year in uni thanks to a friend (unfortunately he is not on the blockchain anymore). I started out as a poet (I thought I wrote beautiful poems). Things didn't go well for me initially. I spent the next six months trying to create content and engage.
I got the first breakthrough when I discovered the air hawk community. 
One of my first miracles on the hive blockchain happened in the airhawk discord server. I think I was slandering motivational speakers that day. My argument was around motivational books and how people could not change their situation just by believing they could. I was really irritated about a lot of things and I was just venting.

Over the years a lot of people have given me a chance, which is not something people get in this part of the world. I think I have used them well. My life is a lot better than it was some years ago.
I am able to take care of my mum and siblings, two of whom are going to college soon; I am helping to complete the building my dad left me before his passing; I am investing in my future, maybe not as much as I want to but I can't really complain. Almost every part of my life is in good condition thanks to the opportunity this platform has offered me.
What I am most grateful for are the amazing people I have meant here (which I value more than the upvote I get). Some of them are no longer active but we talk occasionally. They have been instrumental to my growth and I am eternally grateful to them.
Getting to know people from different parts of the world via the hive blockchain has broadened my horizon. I learn about different cultures and engage with people, some of which have become friends. My journey here has been a lot easy and enjoyable thanks to this awesome community.
Today I am heading communities with fellow hivians, doing things that seemed almost impossible a couple of years back. It seems like a dream but I am learning to soak it in. I am more than grateful for the opportunities and people I have met here.
I have had my battle, but in all, it has been a pleasant experience. It is my goal to help as many people as possible to experience the growth, support and freedom this sphere has offered me. Hopefully, someone else--through me--would be writing a similar post in a couple of years. Cheers!
