That stuff going unchallenged is an illusion. Seems to be two factions, and they don't mingle. Much of that has to do with how social media operates. People are sorted into piles. Then get washed.

I observe and study (when I have time) the voices. But I pay more attention to the listeners because that's where the impact of the message resides. So when I said that line you've highlighted there, I guess was probably envisioning some moronic song and dance about getting vaccinated, like you'd see on tik tok, as opposed to say an anti vax tabloid style meme or post straight up telling people they're sheep soon to die. One isn't scary, the other one is; both equally bullshit. The listeners become mouthpieces or parrots. They're not professionals. Social media has them doing this stuff and they required 'likes' and 'views' that day.

It's complex. I'm not taking a side. Was just a simple observation. It might offend you slightly, because you've taken a position, and that's your right which I most certainly don't hold against you. But the line wasn't coming from 'the other team'.

I can say confidently, the anti vax and pro vax parties combined sell far more fear than those wise enough to stand in no man's land middle ground style. The anger coming from both sides at times is a clear indication they're afraid, and you can't get those results without selling fear.

I read between the lines. You can see on this platform now an individual writing about vaccinations then including how he's downvoted for doing it, which would instill fear in those wishing to take that position on this platform. Yet would go into full denial mode if asked to take responsibility for selling fear. But it's right there in the words and reactions. Can't see it if one can only see the surface due to be locked in to taking a position.

Omicron in the media. Since that started I'd say from my experience observing the media rather than consuming it, for the most part the message has been clear "It's not as deadly". I'll just try to quickly find a couple random examples. Maybe this gentleman as example. And I've not seen this article before but it didn't take long to find the line:

Omicron doesn't appear to be as deadly as some earlier variants.

I did not read that entire article. Was just looking for examples of how the Omicron message is put forth. Interesting to see at the top:

'Certainly COVID will be with us forever,' says infectious disease specialist

I mean, it was around long before these issues today, so that's factually correct, but framed in a way that makes it sound like what's happening today, will last forever. It all boils down to how one's mind absorbs the info. "Don't shoot the messenger" they say. All forms of media can be interpreted several different ways. Not one of those conclusions can be entirely accurate. That's why mingling and sharing of ideas is important. Shooting one down in favor of the other isn't helping.

Whereas your message in comparison sounds more like something I should be afraid of. Just an observation! Relax. Attempting to navigate around the middle ground regions while freely mingling with both factions has been a challenge.
