Yes there are plenty who showed up not really having what it takes to create content, then just left. Those types would naturally do well playing the role of consumer, and earn through votes and comments rather than attempting to be on stage. The role is important but hardly mentioned as a way to fit in and earn, easily. Seems some people want all, or nothing. Something is not enough...

Maybe smear campaign is a poor choice of wording but just look at how depressed and defeated this whole shit show makes people feel. These politics consistently paint the picture of Hive being in shambles. Hive is way more than just posts along with upvotes, downvotes, rewards and the opinions of those latching on and wishing failure to succeed though. It's a slap in the face to all those out there creating, developing, doing well. So much is left out. Not giving anyone credit for anything good and any progress made. This is more a problem a couple individuals are having with a couple other individuals on the platform and has nothing to do with Hive, yet everyone gets thrown under the bus. One even mentioned how being a part of creating this destructive negativity and sadness is the most fun they've ever had here on numerous occasions including here in this comment section.

You can click on most viewed posts on PeakD right now for instance and see Covid material high up, without any downvotes in site. The entire story isn't being told here. Even the headline isn't accurate but I didn't want to bust this guy's balls too hard because he's incredibly sensitive when it comes to criticism.

I'm personally a huge proponent of free speech. I speak freely all the time here without issue, even when these folks mute or downvote me, while saying others shouldn't do that.
