Yep, I was here for the split from Steem back in the dark ages.

I'm still surprised at how many people that I used to follow posted almost daily and now I don't see anything from them at all.

I mean the place still does what it says on the tin, and the value of the tokens is steady. Its not like it was a few years ago when they couldn't keep HBD properly pegged, and there are a lot of accounts that seem to be making enough per post to at least give it a shot at investing real time into the content. There is still the issue with duplicate content with search engines and there should be a way to add a canonical tag based on the frontend that was used, which would mostly solve that, but that would need to be built into the chain and I don't see that happening any time soon.

There is work to be done to have hive as an alternative to say the fediverse and activitypub; but I never seen any on-chain content discussing these topics.
