The Powerful owl is Australia's largest owl and can reach a length of 65cm (25.5 inches).
This Owl is uncommon and is found on the East cost of Australia. I have only manage to see it 4 time over the last 20 years.
The photo above was taken March 2011, in The Royal National Park, which is located south of Sydney.
The photo below was also taken at the Royal National Park, in February 2011. You can see in this photo that the owl is holding a possum in it's talons.
