A walk with my brother around some of the city’s most iconic spots. | Un paseo con mi hermano por algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos de la ciudad.

Warm greetings to all my dear friends in this wonderful Family&Friends community; it is a pleasure to greet you all on this Friday.

Siempre andando en la búqueda de visitar los lugares emblemáticos con gran historia en la ciudad de Maracaibo, y es por eso que mi hermano Alcides es el mejor amigos de aventuras para esto, porque particularmente no sé por qué pero de un tiempo para acá, me ha dado mucho miedo salir yo sola a tomar la fotografías para mostrarles a ustedes estos lugares.

I’m always on the go, seeking out the city’s iconic landmarks steeped in history, and that’s why my brother Alcides is the perfect adventure buddy for this because, for some reason I can’t quite put my finger on, I’ve recently become really scared of going out on my own to take photos to show you these places.

Es por eso que siempre trato de que mi hermano menor Alcides, me pueda acompañar y yo no sentirme tan sola es por eso que cada vez que salgo le pido que me haga el favor de acompañarme mayormente, trato de economizar mucho el pasaje, por lo que tengo que caminar varios kilómetros y él sin duda alguna, me acompaña para poder así minimizar los gastos y también poder recorrer los lugares de manera más satisfectoria y cumplir con el objetivo que me planteo cada vez que voy a uno de estos.

That’s why I always try to get my younger brother Alcides to come with me, so I don’t feel so alone. That’s why, whenever I go out, I ask him to do me the favour of coming with me most of the time. I try to save as much as possible on transport, which means I have to walk several kilometres, and he, without a doubt, accompanies me so that we can minimise expenses and also explore the places more thoroughly and achieve the goal I set myself every time I visit one of these.

Inicialmente, nuestro primer punto de recorrer fueron los famosos cepillados de Jesús ríos, los cuales tienen más de 100 años funcionando, a pesar de que estos cepillados estaba cerrados y su sitio original se encuentra en remodelación, pudimos tomar algunas fotografías por afuera contemplar el lugar, así como también pasar justamente por el nuevo lugar en donde ahora funciona. El establecimiento de los cepillados, que es justamente al frente mi hermano estaba sorprendido con la arquitectura de estos lugares, ya que son bastantes antiguos y reflejan a la Maracaibo de antaño.

Our first stop was the famous Jesús Ríos barbershops, which have been in business for over 100 years. Although these barbershops were closed and their original premises are currently being refurbished, we were able to take some photos from outside and have a look around, as well as pop into the new premises where they are now operating. The planing mills, which are right opposite, left my brother amazed by the architecture of these buildings, as they are quite old and reflect the Maracaibo of yesteryear.

Cada vez resalta que a veces no todo es fácil y sencillo, ya que muchas veces tengo que convencer a mi hermano a que me acompañe, ya que a veces no quiere levantarse muy temprano, por la mañana, por qué tiende a mayormente levantarse muy tarde, pero cuando no logra levantarse temprano y no me puede acompañar, trato de no salir porque tiende a darme bastante miedo luego de ver estos cepillados, nos fuimos hacia una de las avenidas más importantes de Maracaibo, como lo es la avenida de bella vista para poder ir hacia la bomba mi Munich la cual tiene más de 114 años funcionando y en la actualidad esta estación de servicio todavía funciona.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that things aren’t always easy and straightforward, as I often have to persuade my brother to come with me, since he sometimes doesn’t want to get up very early in the morning—he tends to get up quite late, but when he can’t get up early and can’t come with me, I try not to go out because I tend to get quite scared after seeing these beggars. We headed towards one of Maracaibo’s main avenues, namely Avenida de Bella Vista, to go to the ‘Mi Munich’ petrol station, which has been in operation for over 114 years and is still in business today.

Por último me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad simplemente fue un gran gusto compartir con ustedes este momento con mi hermano, sin duda alguna siempre es bueno salir y salir recorridos con nuestra familia, espero les haya gustado mucho esta publicación me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad mis queridos amigos.
