For some, its the only way out — suicide.
“This is for all those hurting from pain so deep and so dark that you don’t think you’ll ever be rid of it. This is for those who suffer while watching their loved ones suffer and feel helpless to take that pain away.”
Excerpt From
Ryan's Bed
When I saw the cover of the book, I felt compeled. But when I read what the title was? I thought nah, this is just another boring book. Boy, I was wrong.
Theres really something really special about this book. Its beautiful, heartbreaking, gut wrenching and irritating at times. This is about a story of a girl and what she was going through. A story about the Taboo word that is suicide.
When I finished the book, I was so happy that I was crying. I was so glad that Mac ( girl from the book) has someone that she can call her own. Someone who listens. And a family who understands. It also made me think about those people who have nothing but is experiencing the same trauma, the same sickness, the same vulnerability? How are we able to help? Is the suicide hotline enough? Is a friend enough?
Depression is the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word suicide. Why? Most victims are depressed. Why? Because they dont have the support system that every person should have. It is very important that we have someone that we can talk to. Someone whom we can share our burdens to. By talking, by sharing, we will be able to let go of those things that are eating us inside and out. Little by little.
A friend, a colleague, a family member. It doesnt really matter. If we feel something wrong, vent out. Talk to someone. Write it out. It will really help. Dont let silence kill you. Dont let depression rule your life.
If you think that you need help and you need someone to talk to? You can always tap me. Just holer.
