Excuse my language in this post but when it is real it is real...
After my post from yesterday regarding, “The Four Agreements,” I wanted to see what other books Don Miguel Ruiz wrote. And to no surprise he also wrote a lovely book on, “The Mastery of Love.” I immediately downloaded audible and got my first book for FREE. Here are my thoughts thus far…
Being divorced is like getting fired from a job or having a business deal go bad. Just because you learn what NOT to do does not mean you know what TO do going forward. You go thru a series of questions: "how in the hell did I fuck this up? Where did I go wrong? Where did we go wrong? Can we fix it? If we can what will love look like after all of the pain? Why was there ever pain? Was I broken? Am I still broken? How can I heal from this and never feel this hurt again?" After the questions, we begin to make declarations: "I will neeeeevvveeerrrr be in this position again! They got me fuuuccckkkeeedd uuuppp!" Lol but they never had you fucked up, you both on individual levels had yourselves fucked up and thats okay. Learn to let go and move on. The healing comes from the action of moving forward not only meditating on the would of, could of, should ofs.
After being divorced for over a year and single for over two years, you find yourself going down path of self love. During your journey you find moments where you want to incorporate companionship back in your life again but that can be tricky. How selfless can you be while still choosing to honor the commitment you made to yourself, your Higher Self?
Love is super interesting and can be so amazing and gross at the same time lol Like why do we seek something from others that we haven’t quite even mastered giving ourselves? We learned about love, both giving and receiving, very early in life from childhood. So our wounds run deep and our bad patterns and behaviors take REAL work to mend. It is no one’s fault in particular because we are all learning and I truly feel doing the best we can with what we have. But as my God Mommy Oprah says, “when you know better you do better.” And once again, maybe it is because it is the end of the year and I am on my new year new me *ish lol but ya girl is trying to do BETTER!
Over the past 48 hours I have just been blown away by the words of this author. I have decided to share on Steemit because 1. This community is awesome and so supportive and 2. I want to encourage us all to decentralize not only our wallets but our hearts and minds as well. We must expose our suffering to the light of truth just as we do germs. As I previously mentioned in the interview I covered on Jay-Z, “what we reveal we heal,” and I plan on revealing it all one Steemit post at a time and beyond lol
Here are some of my fave quotes from the book thus far…
