Hi all. Hope you are doing fine. I feel dizzy with the news of covid. There is a new variant of the covid virus, namely Omicron. In fact, some news sites have another new variant, Delmicron. It makes me dizzy. In fact, some countries have implemented quarantines of up to 14 days. I hope the world will get better soon.
I want to share a book review by my favorite author. I have been reading this book for a long time. This book is also the most popular book in Indonesia. I also like the author. I have met the author of this book several times. He is very handsome. Ha ha ha. I will discuss this book. The title is "Paradigm", written by Syaid Muhammad.
I'm trying to find the meaning of this book. Paradigm is defined as a human view of himself and his environment. This will affect the way of thinking, attitude and behavior. From the meaning, I say that the author wants to say something different from the book he wrote. Oh, yes, this book is about mental health. From this book, I realized that it is difficult to cure this disease.
After I finished reading this book, the plot became very different. Plus, the author makes the characters in this book very detailed. I fell in love with the characters made in this book, I also fell in love with the diction made by the author. There is a lot of diction in this book. The author is very good at stringing words together. Before telling you about this book, I want to tell you about the cover of this book.
The cover of this book, in my opinion, is very interesting. That's one of the reasons I bought this book. Books with black covers, often make readers bored. In fact, wouldn't buy because of the unpleasant book cover. There are some interesting works of art in this book. Publishers and authors understand it well to make this book interesting. There are many messages from the artwork of this book.
The author seems to want to tell the reader to see from a different perspective. I will tell the story of this book. The author raises a story about a teenage love that started on campus. Two people who start to fall in love but one of them still has a girlfriend. This book also tells about family and the future. This is not a unique story, there are many books to discuss romance.
What is unique is that this book discusses mental health. Anya has an anxiety disorder. While Rana has a dissociative identity or often referred to as multiple personalities. For this anxiety disorder, suffer from loneliness. Anya was abandoned by her parents forever. Meanwhile, Rana's mental disorder was caused by the death of his mother.
Often, mental disorders occur because they don't care to let out their inner emotions. Sometimes, a person finds it difficult to express his inner emotions because of the views of others. For example, I often get annoyed with trivial things. While my friends consider it less important. People who try to express their emotions are often seen as seeking attention.
But the author makes the main character characters very strong. That makes the story of this book unique. The main characters in this book are Rana and Anya. By the way, this book deals with two perspectives. Anya and Rana's point of view. That way, readers know how the conditions and feelings of the two main characters in this book are.
---
Of the several books I've read, only a few books have raised two points of view like this. Many books only tell one point of view. I want to tell you about the main character in this book. Rana, she really likes painting and being alone. In fact, in some conversations, Rana is considered gay. But, I like Rana's character. Rana has a very different concept of love. For those of you who have just finished reading this book, you will probably hate Rana.
At the beginning of the story I was bored with this book. This book tells about the romance between Ola, Anya and Rana. But the conflict begins to make the story very interesting. The conflict created is very interesting. Rana has a twin brother, named Pledge. the two never met. Ikrar and Rana both love to paint. The paintings of Rana and Pledge are very similar. Mother has known this since they were little.
Rana and Anya start dating and conflict begins. Anya asks about Rana's family condition, asks about mom and dad. But the conflict is a bit complicated. I find it difficult to understand the conflict the author creates. Rana and Pledge have the same mental illness, multiple personalities. In real life, I have met people who have multiple personalities. Many people think, if the health of the disease is getting closer to God. The solution to mental health problems is worship. To me this is ridiculous.
Another conflict is carried out by Ola, Rana's ex-girlfriend. Ola spreads lies about Rana to her friends. I don't know what lies Ola sent to her friend. It makes Rana dress up like her mother and come to college. What Rana did was make the campus earthquake, there was something interesting about it. Another professor suggested that Rana drop out for making the college's reputation bad. This is interesting and often happens around us.
What happened to Rana was caused by his past. The accident that happened to his mother. Rana blames his father. Rana thinks his father does not love his family. Rana is very lonely. Rana thinks no one can understand it. Until finally Rana raised the figure of his mother to treat his loneliness. This part makes me sad. I asked, what if I had this?
I prefer the ending of this book. Ola has regrets. He wrote his regrets on the bulletin board on campus. Ola feels sorry for Rana. Ola doesn't know about Rana's illness. From the letter written by Ola, Ola hopes that Rana can be accepted by his friends. This part made me cry. I was touched by what Ola did.
From this story I think, if we all have problems to deal with. We have no right to judge. The most important thing is to try to understand what happened. It can make us to respect other people. This novel is very interesting. I will buy another book from the author.
