Hello everyone, how are you? Are you okay? I hope you are okay. I want to tell you about a place I visited recently when I visited Cianjur. Cianjur has a mosque called the Great Mosque of Cianjur.
There is no official name for this mosque. However, each main door is given a special name, namely Babu Salam, Babu Sakina, Babu Marhama. The three names have the first meaning, the door of safety, the door of tranquility, and the door of affection. That is what characterizes this mosque.

Another thing is that the mosque here has its own meaning between the leader and the community. Where each regent has a special closeness to the mosque. And this is also a symbol between the leader and the people through religion. And that is also what brings the community closer to the regent through religion.
Before I tell you further, I also want to tell you that this mosque was built on the endowment of Nyi Raden Siti Bodedar, who is a noblewoman of Cianjur. Well, with the existence of this mosque, it becomes a strong characteristic of the role of women in local Islamic history.
So, when was this mosque built? This mosque was built in 1810. Well, this mosque too. Well, back again, who is Nyiraden Siti Bodedar called? The noblewoman was the daughter of the fourth Raden Adipati Wiratanudastar, who was more precisely the fourth Regent of Cianjur.
At that time, over time, the mosque had been renovated seven times, and was made one of the oldest mosques in West Java. In terms of the building, this place does not have a very large dome like other mosques, such as the Great Mosque of Bandung City.

Well, here too, this also indicates that this mosque is a modern mosque, and also maintains the traditional limasan as a symbol of simplicity and local wisdom. On the other hand, this mosque also applies modern and traditional architecture. The traditional thing is seen from the old mosques in the archipelago, namely with the shape of the limasan.

This limasan roof shape also indicates the old mosques in Indonesia. Well, as a religious symbol or symbol of Islam is replaced with a small dome or what is called mustiqa. On the other hand, this mosque also uses a lot of wood, supporting pillars made of teak wood. This also indicates that this teak wood is the main pillar.

And this pillar not only functions as a structure but also becomes a symbol of the figure of faith. Another thing that is another characteristic is the inscription poem. This poem is a quote of wisdom in Arabic Begon letters or what can be called Old Sundanese Script. And this also indicates strengthening its local and spiritual values.
