Thanks be to God and mcgi for another wonderful explorative teachings on this week's mcgi cares .
Important points I learnt from God's word discussed in the zoom meeting.
The earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need but not every man's greed. Greediness has an evil effect. Wars, invasions, massacres, extreme poverty, social instability, overpopulation, climate change, economic crises are the possible outcomes of greed.
Greed is the selfish desire to possess things which are far beyond what is beyond for basic human comfort. Greed is activated when men crave for more money. It's a cycle. Greed is the cause of gambling, stealing, swindling etc. Greediness is one thing we should hate in life.
Proverbs 28:16 talks about the lack of understanding that makes a leader oppress its constituency or followers. The life of a man is not dependent on what a man has in life. The life of a greedy man is short. Whatever good thing a person does us the same we'll receive from the lord. Do not get tired of doing good. God will always repay you.
Proverbs 62:12 talks about every good thing we do will be repaid to us. God said he'll never forsake us. God pays more than you're expecting when you're honest.
Hebrews 6:10 talks about God will never forget the good work you do. He doesn't forget what you do or the labour of love.
Greediness is appropriating what is not for yourself. All global issues are the result of greediness.
THE FOLLOWING WERE MY OLD BELIEFS OR EXPECTATIONS THAT WERE IMPROVED BY LISTENING IN THE ZOOM MEETING.
a. I thought gathering enough ( being greedy) is good to have more to myself.
b. I thought being greedy is good because the world is survival of the fittest.
HOW THE TEACHING AFFECT ME AS A BETTER PERSON
a.God is against greediness and I should abstain from it .
b. Greediness causes extreme poverty to others and makes them suffer .
c. I should always do good to others and shouldn't be tired of doing good.
Thanks be to God and God bless you.
