Yeah... You heard right!
If you follow my posts, you must have seen in my previous post where I talked about my visit to the Eastern part of Nigeria, my home town after about 10 years of not visiting.
I only stayed for few days and I was really sad to leave. It was good to be around my people again and I wasn't ready to leave only after a few days but I had to because there were assignments I had in the west which I could not ignore.
I left, wondering when next I would have the opportunity to visit this beautiful place and see these beautiful people once again.
Well, like they say, who knows?
By some Miracle, barely one month after, an opportunity came up for me to visit the East again!
An ECK Seminar (Hosted by Eckankar Nigeria) was the golden opportunity! I didn't really make plans to attend ahead because I didn't think I would have the chance or resources to attend.
However, I got a free ride and every other thing I needed to be able to attend so who am I to say "NO"?
With only one day to prepare, I quickly packed my bags with few clothes that I'll be needing for the seminar, made a very simple hairstyle. Thanks to my skilled room mate!
I only slept for few hours the night before the journey mostly due to excitement. I woke up as early as 4am, got prepared and before 6am, I was at the Car park, waiting for the vehicle to get filled so I can meet up with my free ride and start off with the main journey to the East.
I almost missed my ride but thankfully I made it just in time!
The journey was comfortable but we met more traffic than usual on the way. The journey took about 10hours before I got to where I was staying for the weekend. This was on Wednesday.
I was glad to be home. I ate and rested well. I was looking forward to meeting my elder brother whom I hadn't seen for the past 6 years!
The next morning, I got ready and met with him at about 10 am in the morning. It was a really happy reunion. We were both sooooo excited to see each other and we had quite a number of things to talk about. We called and talked to some family and friends via video call while we gisted at a bar.
He permitted me to use our pictures
Afterwards, we went shopping at a nearby market. Things were pretty expensive so we didn't really buy much. At about 4pm, we left the market for a nearby mini restaurant for a plate of African salad (abacha). Oh! how much I鈥檝e missed it!
It was a really fun day for me. My brother and I haven't spent so much quality time together in a long time. We finally went home at about 6pm.
Today, Friday 22 April, is the very first Day of the Seminar and I'm looking forward to enjoying every bit of it.
Thanks so much for dropping by. It means more than you know.
Bye for now.... See you in the next post!
