Today I noticed that I have reached 2000 HP earned in total as curation rewards. I still remember how even just a few hundred HP seemed like a difficult goal to achieve, and it feels a bit strange to think that today my curation rewards alone are measured in the thousands — yes, thousands, plural. 2000 HP represent about 1/12 of all my HP: a ratio I intend to keep improving, with the very ambitious goal of one day making curation my main source of Hive Power.
## On the right track Over the past 30 days, I have generated 150 HP thanks to my upvotes, which is more than 1/5 of the HP I earned during the same period: this means that day after day, month after month, the ratio between my total HP and the HP earned through curation is slowly shifting in favor of the latter. It is not that I care about having more curation rewards than author rewards, but achieving a progressively more balanced ratio between the two would first and foremost mean that curation is becoming increasingly important for me — and that does matter. My desire to write posts is, in fact, growing weaker: from 3 posts per week I may soon drop to 2, because even now I sometimes struggle to find a topic to write about. HIVE’s price obviously plays a decisive role as well: seeing a post generate 1 or 2 dollars in earnings is somewhat discouraging, especially considering the time and effort I put into it. In March, I hope to make progress on other projects and, if they lead somewhere, I might be even less interested in dedicating time to writing posts that, at the moment, reward me so little — in economic terms. All of this brings me back to the starting point of this post: the more I manage to increase my curation rewards, the less my growth on Hive — in terms of HP — will be affected when the time comes to reduce my presence on this chain. Even now, I find myself generating over 1800 HP in gains per year, which is already a fairly decent growth rate and would allow me to continue growing even if I decided to completely stop publishing. Of course, increasing this value further would be better, but I have the feeling that time is running out and it will be difficult to do much better than this. If the market were to recover a bit, perhaps my desire to write would reignite as well, but at the moment it seems unlikely, very unlikely... So I will enjoy this small milestone, with the thought that, regardless of how things turn out, my passive income on Hive is better than ever.

Oggi ho notato di aver raggiunto i 2000 HP guadagnati in totale come ricompense da curation. Mi ricordo ancora quanto anche solo poche centinaia di HP mi sembravano un obiettivo non facile da raggiungere e devo dire che mi fa un po' strano pensare che oggi le mie sole ricompense da curation si calcolano nell'ordine delle migliaia, sì, al plurale appunto. 2000 HP rappresentano circa 1/12 di tutti i miei HP: un rapporto che intendo continuare a migliorare, con l'obiettivo - molto ambizioso - di rendere un giorno l'attività di cura la mia principale fonte di Hive Power.
## Sulla buona strada Negli ultimi 30 giorni ho generato 150 HP grazie ai miei upvotes, ossia più di 1/5 degli HP che ho guadagnato durante lo stesso periodo: ciò significa che giorno dopo giorno, mese dopo mese, il rapporto tra i miei HP totali e quelli guadagnati grazie all'attività di cura si sposta lentamente in favore di quest'ultimo. Non che mi importi avere più ricompense da curation rispetto a quelle da autore, ma avere un rapporto via via più bilanciato tra queste vorrebbe dire, prima di tutto, che l'attività di cura sta diventando sempre più importante per me, e questo sì che mi importa. Il desiderio di scrivere post è infatti sempre più debole: da 3 post a settimana potrei a breve scendere a 2, perchè già così alle volte fatico a trovare un argomento di cui scrivere. Il valore di HIVE gioca ovviamente poi un ruolo decisivo: vedere un post generare 1 o 2 dollari di guadagno è un po' avvilente, considerando soprattutto il tempo che impiego e l'impegno che ci metto. Nel mese di marzo spero di riuscire di fare alcuni passi avanti su altri progetti e, se questi dovessero portare a qualcosa, potrei essere ancora meno interessato a dedicare del tempo alla scrittura di post che, attualmente, mi ripagano così poco - in termini di valore economico. Tutto ciò mi porta al punto di partenza di questo post: tanto più riuscirò ad incrementare le mie ricompense da curation, tanto meno ne risentirà la mia crescita su Hive - in termini di HP - quando arriverà il momento di ridurre la mia presenza su questa chain. Già così mi ritrovo a generare oltre 1800 HP di guadagno all'anno, che sono già un tasso di crescita tutto sommato decente, che mi consentirebbe di continuare a crescere anche ove decidessi di cessare completamente la mia attività di pubblicazione. Sicuramente se riuscissi ad incrementare questo valore sarebbe meglio, ma ho come la sensazione che il tempo sia agli sgoccioli e difficilmente riuscirò a fare molto meglio di così. Se il mercato si riprendesse un po' magari anche la mia voglia di scrivere si riaccenderebbe, ma al momento la vedo dura, molto dura... Mi godo perciò questo piccolo traguardo e con il pensiero che, a prescindere di come andrà, la mia rendita passiva su Hive è comunque migliore che mai.
