The indirect democracy people participate directly in thr affairs of the state. They first discuss then debate and take the final decision directly in the issues of administration while in the indirect democracy people participate in the affairs of the state by choosing their representatives. Direct democracy is possible only in thr smaller states while the indirect democracy is run in bigger states in sizes and population.

The method in which people choose their representatives in the indirect democracy is known as the election. It is very necessary for indirect democracy because it is the only thing that the people participate in the matters of administration. All the Major decisions are taken by these representatives on the side of the people.

The election commission is a constitutional body is referred in article 324 of the constitution which provides for w independent election commission for the superintendent,directions and control of electoral and conducts the election in india. In the starting, it was made as a single member commission but after few amendment in constitution this commission is made multi member commission with one chief election commissioner and two other commission with same powers.

Besides the governmental mechanism, the people have the equal responsibility to ensure free and fair and peaceful election in different levels. People should be more vigilant and more actively involved in the political activities. There should be the political institutions and some volunteer organization who act as a watch guards in the proper functioning of the governmental machinery and ensure free and fair elections in the country .
