If I were to ask here: What is your favorite search engine? the answer would surely be the most obvious of all: Google. I don't know anyone among family, friends, influencers and other beings on the planet who doesn't feel the need to consult any information, from the simplest to the most abstract, before this great encyclopedia that knows everything (and if not invents it), precisely because of the convenience it represents for us to delegate this responsibility to this big brother. For almost all human beings, this search engine represents more than just a tool to satisfy our doubts or curiosities, it has become a kind of god to whom we surrender our faith and adoration without thinking twice.

A couple of days ago my son asked me for help with a school assignment, to which I internally said to myself: "I left the fifth grade behind many years ago but I don't think it is complicated to solve mathematical operations at that level" so I did not hesitate to help my little boy with his educational work. First punch in the face: binary numbers and quinary numbers, what are they talking about? I thought. I immediately recognized that from my primary education the only things I remember are games, trading cards and dolls, but about binary and quinary numbers I only know that one applies to the digits "1" and "0" and the others are the ones that go from 0 to 4.

With great sorrow I had to admit to the child my total lack of ability to use my brain and assume that I did not know the subject but, wait, I know someone who can help us, the almighty Google, the one who knows everything and observes everything. It's incredible but I didn't think to directly consult my son's math book or his class notebook, I simply took my smart phone, typed "binaries and quarians" and in seconds thousands of options opened up in front of my face. I am sure that through the book the doubt would have been cleared with the same ease but I am so used to using the web that I am already conditioned almost automatically to take that route as the only unquestionable option.

Evidently the objective was achieved, but I feel somewhat disappointed with myself for not trusting such an important resource that nature gave us, that great organ of color between gray and pink that we call brain; and yes, Google is extremely intelligent and powerful will never match the super computer that nature gave us at birth, we just have to train it to strengthen it and amaze ourselves, but positively.
