Laying around, waiting to be free.
You've no idea when that will be.
Stuck in bed with a tube in your arm.
If you leave, you'll only do more harm.

Pretty nurses enter to do their checks.
When they want your blood they send in techs.
Your toes are purple, they're almost black.
You're just hoping to get their color back.

You're going crazy with not much to do.
Why it's happening, you have no clue.
You wore those tight socks, like the doctor said.
Now here you are again, stuck in bed.

All you can do is lay around and wait.
Is it all just bad luck or is it fate?
You do all the tests and wait for the news.
Thinking about the next path you'll choose.

Will I have limits; will I have toes?
At this point of time, no one really knows.
You tell yourself, there's no need to fear.
Going home time is getting very near.

Waiting for the drugs in your bloodstream,
all you can do is lay there and dream.
Dragging all those tubes when you go pee.

Howdy y’all. It’s me, ninong7 aka UJ aka John. Just a short intro about myself. I am a Texan that has retired in the Philippines. I moved to the Philippines with my wife back in May 2010. I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I play dominoes when I can find someone that will play, I play chess, cribbage, spades, hearts, Empire Builder, Rail Baron, Acquire and a few other games. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history. I’m at home on my computer a lot but if I could afford to, I’d be traveling and documenting my travels to post in my blog. I hope to get to know a lot of you through PeakD and Discord.
