The sun has yet to greet the morning,
but my eyes are starting to see some light.
My mind is adjusting to the rigors of life
and reality hits me with its full force.
Today my body will need to go beyond
anything that it has endured in years.
My legs will be the main characters
in this short but important endeavor.
It’s another page in the book of my life,
the sweat and pain well worth the trip.
