[EP142] - Working conditions between Australia, USA and India.

Hope you're all well!

I've been talking to recruiters and employers about maybe changing jobs for the last couple of weeks. It's complicated... I know the rules in Australia, I'm learning the rules in the US, and I've accidentally been exposed to the terrible rules in India. It's so weird that the guys that I work alongside, who add just as much value as I do are subjected to completely different and really harsh workplace rules.

For example, if I was to quit my job in the US, it's preferred that I give 2 weeks notice, but I think contractually I can leave or be fired with no notice. In Australia that's not allowed, and if you're fired they have to give you about 4 weeks notice... and so traditionally you give about 4 weeks notice... but if both parties agree then that can be shorter. For my colleagues in India, they have to give 3 months notice. That's insane!

I hope that as work continues to cross borders and people also move more frequently to follow the work, that conditions for worker improve... but with automation right around the corner, I somehow doubt that.
