I was lucky enough to never have a comebacker hit right at me while pitching. But I got beaned plenty of times while hitting. I used a big leg kick and then strided towards the pitch so it was always nearly impossible for me to get out of the way. The worst time was in little league I actually got the wind knocked out of me from getting hit in the back.
