We are back from our 6-month journey through 10 different countries. As you can all see we didn’t manage to keep up posting because our PC broke and we lost our phone. So, pretty bad luck indeed.
We arrived back in Trondheim (Norway) some weeks before Christmas, closing in on 2018 with lots of new opportunities. As we are equiped with new gear we will now seize the opportunity to share our recent adventures with you.
First of all we would like to wish all of you A Very Happy New Year and all the best for 2018!
We got a fresh start of the new year with a new apartment in a new place. Before we left Norway we moved out of our old apartment and stored all our things into a container. Like this we did not need to pay any rent to a place we weren't living in anyway. In the end of our trip we started to look for a new apartment.
Because we wanted to make a fresh start we decided that our next apartment should be of higher standard than the previous one we had. Because Hans is a musician and has to practice at home the apartment should be well isolated. We both like nature a lot so we wanted a bit of a view of the beautiful Norwegian forests.
Just a couple of weeks before we were supposed to arrive we finally managed to find ourself a new apartment that met all the requirements.
Our last apartment was quite old and even how much we decorated, fixed and cleaned up, it would still look messy. This influenced our moods, inspiration and motivation to keep up doing what we like to do. We were getting annoyed with each other and more negative in general.
Our kitchen...
... with bar solution.
A cosy sofa corner to relax.
With a new, modern and inviting apartment more inspirations followed: A long awaited spice rack.
As all norwegians would know, or rather all «not norwegian people» visiting or living in Norway, the food here might be quite taste less. Salt and peper are maybe some of the most used spices in most of the world, but it Norway they seem to be the -Only- used spices. For Hans, being born in Sri Lanka, one of the spiciest countries in the world, this just doesn't do.
Throughout our travels we have collected spices from all kinds of countries. We thought it would colour up the place nicely to put everything in jars on a rack. And, having all this so readily available we actually USE the spices when we cook our food.
During our journey we lost shape quite a bit (especially after multiple jet-lags). This is why we transformed the original sleeping room into a trainings room.
As Hans is now practicing at home we have a cool exhibition of instruments standing here.
The best thing about the apartment is that the forest is right in our garden. The view is great and we even have regular visit of a deer!
To conclude: a significant upgrade from our former lives. Now we have given ourselves some time to process all the pictures and videos we shot during our journey so expect to see updates about that shortly!
