It rained heavily last night. In the morning I looked out the window and saw puddles that had not yet dried out. Decided to go to the park. In the forest, probably, the soil has not yet dried out and dampness is all around.
Many trees and bushes have been cut down in the park this year. It didn't feel comfortable at all. Most of the birds have left this place. The technology was there. The saws bit into the trunks of the trees. This noise made the birds very uncomfortable.
But I'm not very lucky. In the park near one of the old buildings I saw 4 magpies. One sat on the fence of the building, while the other three took turns pecking at the concrete foundation.
While one magpie pecked at something in the concrete of the foundation, the other two waited patiently for their turn. Then the other one began to peck, and the other two waited patiently. This went on for about 15 minutes.
Gradually, they carved a fairly large hole in the concrete. It's amazing what magpies had strong beaks. Destroying concrete is quite difficult. What they were looking for I did not understand. Maybe it seemed to them that edible worms or other living creatures were hiding in the concrete wall.
After gouging out the concrete of the foundation a little more, they stopped and began, as it were, to deliberate what to do next. Apparently they didn't find what they were looking for. Therefore, they decided whether it was necessary to continue to hammer the concrete foundation.
But apparently they decided that it was beyond their power to look for food on earth. I think it's a better way to get your own food than to dig into a very solid foundation. After all, although their beak is quite strong, however, concrete is much stronger. So you could damage your beak.
The fourth magpie all this time sat on the fence of the building and looked at the three magpies, which were pecking the concrete of the foundation of the building with their beaks. It was probably the smartest magpie. She understood that pecking the concrete of the foundation with her beak was a bad and unsafe occupation.
