Glottiphyllum buds about to burst open
It's strange to have plants that spend all summer sleeping and only come to life once the weather cools and winter approaches. There are two reasons for this behaviour: many come from areas which only receive winter rainfall and they evolved to grow in winter and others come from areas which receive very little rainfall and it makes sense for them to conserve energy and grow only during the cooler months of the year.
Faucaria has a flower bud and a new set of leaves
It's good to water succulents a little in summer but they are plants that seldom respond to watering and may rot if watered in the wrong season. They time their growth to coincide with temperature changes.
Aloinopsis also popping out some new leaves
Another Faucaria, with the bud just about to open. Although it seems red, the flower will be yellow.
