RE: The plants needed new soil
Your soil is almost pure clay, it's no wonder you struggle

RE: Here Comes the Sun - We Got Solar Panels, But are They Worth It?
We do solar with panels and batteries here because our electricity grid is a mess so you don't make any savings for years, thanks to the cost of the batteries. Wish I could do it though

RE: Light pillars
How far North do you see these from? I'm too close to the equator to see anything like this but it fascinates me

I think that all the double flowers are hybrids and they don't last. The single petalled flowers come up every year in my garden

RE: Genus Purenleon
It's not a dragon fly but an adult Ant lion, Myrmeleontidae species. They hide in the bushes because they are nocturnal insects

It will only hybridise with another member of the stapelia or heurnia family though

RE: Huernia Macrocarpa
You have seed pods! There has been successful pollination and because stapeliads are usually not self fertile, you may have some kind of hybrid, depending on what else was flowering at the time

Anytime 😀 Fan aloes are one of my favourites and they are expensive here too. They aren't the easiest to grow out of their natural climate

Awesome pots and plants! Just a note on your Fan aloe: that's Kumara plicatilis if you want to read about it, they come from a part of my country that has a mediterranean climate so go heavy on the water

RE: Having A Time In The Cold White Hell
Voter suppression and rigging will be the chosen route. That's how the Afrikaner nationalists came to power here: voting was gerrymandered until the rural vote carried more weight than the city vote

RE: Cherry Tomato Season Starts Now
My 2 cents on cherry tomatoes is that grow very well on compost heaps so give lots of organic matter. Tomatoes also need a lot of regular water and good ventilation or they get red spider mites. Bigger
