No, manure will kill these plants, they evolved to live in the desert where the soils are poor and they are meant to be slow. Fast growth makes the plant structure weak

Super plants! I never put it either in water or plant directly but leave in a warm but shady place to make roots and the ends to heal. It's still winter for you though? I don't know if it's warmer or colder
