It's all from heat stress. I have put shade cloth above the vegetable garden. They still get sun but have stopped burning. Try also to use mulch to save the water in the soil or try using an olla system?

I don't think that they are vengeful, they pee on stuff out of insecurity, that's why the bed or the sofa is a common target, because it smells of you. It's very frustrating too! My most nervous cat pees
