Hello Hive friends and travel lovers! In this post I will cover up most of our last day in Vienna. Castle and palace visits will be shared in separate posts as I took way too many photos for all of them to fit in one post...
Breakfast and hotel check out
After another delicious breakfast, incredibly good Gugelhupf cake and two coffee's, it was time to finish packing and leave the hotel. We loaded the suitcases on our bus and our big group was split into two - some of us went to visit a castle and famous Vienna palaces and the rest was transported to the city center where they had a lot of free time to explore the city...
Castle and Vienna palaces trip
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I took a lot of photos on this last day excursion so I will dedicate separate post for each place we visited. I opted for this guided tour because I wanted to see the most famous palaces of Vienna and learn more about them and we still had some free time after that before going back home.
Lunch time
After our trip, the bus took us to the city center where we wanted to find a place to eat. Since it was Sunday, a lot of restaurants, cafes and such were closed which is something unusual for us - in Serbia that is not the case except for few places maybe. Anyways, some of our friends were at the Turkish restaurant we already visited on the first day so we decided to join them. I left my phone on a charger at the restaurant so I don't have any photos of the amazing food I had called Turkish Combo but I had to borrow my friend's phone to take photos of the traditional Turkish coffee.
Sacher cake and cappuccino to end the Vienna visit
The best way to end this Vienna trip was eating yummy Sacher cake and having a cup of delicious cappuccino! There is a very famous place in Vienna to try Sacher cake but it's always way too crowded, the que is so long and we were not even sure if it's open on Sundays so we went to this cute place where we could sit down and enjoy our cakes and beverages. I am a big chocolate lover so Sacher cake was a perfect option for me and everything was served in such cute plates and cups which makes it not only delicious but also very aesthetically pleasing.
Leaving Vienna...
Here are some last photos I took on our way to the meeting point with the rest of the group. We were supposed to be on the bus and leave at 6pm so we made sure to get there on time. It was so nice to take this last evening walk and I really tried to take in as much of the city atmosphere, vibe and beauty as I could. I didn't sleep much (almost at all) on our ride back to Novi Sad and it was almost 3am when I got home to my bed. Overall it was an amazing travel experience and it felt sooo incredibly good to travel again after a long time! I really hope I will get a chance to visit this wonderful city again and discover more of its beauty!
