The Bible speaks of the presence of an enemy, whose purpose is to destroy the people of God (I Peter 5: 8). The Christian must identify this dangerous enemy. Notice how the Bible describes our worst enemy:
Each of these titles describes the purpose of our enemy. This purpose is to destroy the Christians and prevent them from entering heaven. For this reason, it is imperative that you and I have this enemy in mind and that we are prepared to be alert and firm against their attacks.
So is. Victory over the enemy belongs to the faithful Christian. This truth is clearly established in the Holy Scriptures.
Victory belongs to the Christian because he is in Christ, and this is where victory is found. However, being in Christ denotes living an acceptable life before God. A life of obedience in Christ will help you to be sure of your victory over the enemy.
How much do we use this sword? It is imperative that the Christian study the Scriptures in order to overcome the enemy. The neglect of the study of the Bible has led many Christians to lose the victory.
The lack of prayer in the lives of Christians will cause their eternal life to be lost. God has given us the solution to the problem of temptations. This solution is called prayer. Those Christians who do not pray are those who can not have a victory over the enemy.
