On Studenaya Gora there is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, and in parallel one of the oldest educational institutions in the whole region is the Vladimir Aviation Mechanics College.
More than 130 years ago, with the funds of the famous manufacturer, owner of the Gusev glassworks of Maltsov, his nephew Nechaev-Maltsov, the Zemsky (district-modern) craft school was opened.
After the revolution, the school was transformed into the Vladimir Mechanical College of General Mechanical Engineering.
