I got to see SARAH KAY at a poetry reading last night! As a rapper, I’m a total word nerd. So going to this event was like going to a carnival to me. It’s such an incredible experience to be able to see people express their innermost emotions through carefully thought-out language and performances. The poets were Anis Mojgani, Kristen O’Keefe Aptowicz, Derrick C. Brown, and Sarah Kay, and they all had different styles and different mannerisms, from super serious to super funny. It was a night to remember for sure.
