I made 3 BEATS in 2 HOURS at a beatmaking challenge/class down in DC, and I surprised myself! The beats were great, and the challenge pushed me beyond my limits and made me think outside of the box in terms of having more polyrhythms and more interesting drums than just a kick snare.
I tend to stuck in a box with drums especially, and the best way to push past this is to move past your comfort zone! Put kicks and percussion on weird beats and see what it feels like. It was honestly liberating. I also got to chop some vocals and samples that the instructor provided and made some unexpected things, and I'm excited to share these beats with you guys. Also got to hang out with my friends Sanjay and Edgar which is always fun. Hope you enjoy!
