As we all know, Steemit doesn’t feature an on the deck facility to upload profile picture directly from your internet device. So, in order to upload our profile picture or avatar on Steemit, we have to upload the picture on a third party site and then copy the link of the photo and paste it onto the profile picture URL box in Steemit. This might feel laborious at least for some people. Also, there is the possibility of unwarranted misusage of our picture by those sites. There is also the case of Steemit failing to obtain the picture from those sites due to unexplained and unforeseen circumstances. So, to avoid all these issues, I have found the easiest way to upload a profile picture on Steemit.
Follow the steps below to know how to do this:
- First, launch your computer browser and open Steemit site in it.
- Now, right click on the POST button and open it in another tab.
- After the post tab is loaded, you can see a dialog box for writing text in it. Just underneath the post tab, there is the option for uploading pictures for the post. You can upload pictures by dragging them onto it, pasting it from the clipboard or selecting the images.
- After the picture is fully uploaded, a URL link appears in the text dialog box. Copy the link starting from “https” up to the end of the link denoting “jpg”.(ignore the brackets and everything outside it).
- Now, without closing the POST page tab, switch to the Steemit home tab and go to settings.
- Paste the copied link into the profile picture URL column and click update. Steemit might ask you to enter the password for updating the profile picture.
- After updating, refresh the home page and the new profile picture will be displayed. After this, you can clear or close the post tab.
Hope this is useful.
Thank you.
Also feel free to comment if there is a better method or alternative to this method.
