That one thing that I don't do but everyone else around me does.. I needed not to think twice as soon as I came across the contest topic of the moment.馃槄
So just last weekend, a friend of mine wanted us to hangout at a nice restaurant to have a good time with her and her kiddo. She wanted the hangout so badly but at the same time had doubts that the hangout was going to work out because she had a lot of laundry and other house chores to do. So, she wanted to know how free I was for the weekend and so she called me on phone..
She asked.. Nigly, How free are you this weekend? I'm checking out what a hangout would look like with you, I and my kiddo but do not know how to balance it up with the heavy house chores I have to do!
I replied.. I am very free during weekends and always at any fun service that comes my way ma'am!鈽猴笍
She asked again.. You're done with your house chores already or you don't have any to do?
And I replied.. I did all those within the week..
Oh! no! I envy you now! She screamed
I just giggled at what she said while we continued our conversation.. She had to choose between doing her weekend chores or going for the weekend hangout that she yearn for. Long story short, she rescheduled the hangout cus she needed to do the house chores in preparation for the new week..
Doing heavy weekend chores has been a norm for the people around me. But for me, I am not a fan of weekend chores.. I like to be free on weekends so as to grab every fun activity that come to me, just like the hangout that came up last weekend which would have happened if my friend was free like I love to be during weekends.

For me weekends are for fun, partying, relaxation and self care but people around me mostly do their laundry and cleaning during weekends. Infact, in the place where I live, during weekends like this it would seem like the neighbors are dragging a space on the laundry wire where they could hang their clothes..the whole wire would be filled with clothes. Well, for some reasons I do not blame them cus they are always very busy within the week or it could just be the normal way they want to run their activities.
What I do instead
I try to squeeze out time within the week to do my laundry and general house cleaning.. Let's say Tuesdays or Wednesdays. I would have still followed the norm of doing all these during weekends, but I choose to use my weekends for enjoyment.
Again, weekends are for weddings right? I would have missed a lot of wedding or even birthday parties if I was a fan of weekend chores because in a situations where I have lots of chores to do, I think it will be difficult to make a decision as to which one I would go for.. I'm a fan of "orderliness before fun" trust me! I can forget about fun on remembering the pile of dirty clothes that I have in my laundry basket to wash or the dirty room, kitchen or toilet I have to clean.. So, to avoid missing out on all of this I do the heavy house chores that should normally be done during weekends on week days.
The Joy that comes to my heart when I know I'm going to be free as a bird during weekends is nothing compared to none 鈽猴笍
You can join me and enjoy the feeling as well.. I'm sure weekend chores would become abnormal to you.. Trust me!
