Hello Hivers
Howdy!

In my blog today I'll be responding to the topic for the Weekly Featured Contest

Week 07:- Edition 03:-

"YOUR FAVORITE MODE OF TRANSPORT"

Transportation involves movement from one place to another. We either move by air, land or sea and each of these means of transportation has their own advantages and disadvantages such as the air and sea means of transportation which is more traffic free than the land means of transportation. We all have our choice of preference on the best and most convenient mode of transportation to use while moving from one place to another.

I would have quickly made my choice without giving a second thought about my favorite mode of transportation If I were to write off the key points of this contest. But writing in the context below;

Imagine if there were no security issues, no traffic and the risk of accidents has been reduced to the barest minimum... What would be your favorite mode of transport? Give us your reasons.

My favorite mode of transportation is by land
I didn't make this choice because it has been the only means of transportation I've been exposed to since I was a child but because it has most times seemed like I was on a peace nature tour especially during a long journey. I remember travelling to the northern part of Nigeria from the the East during my NYSC orientation camp days, traveled from Aba to Katsina State with a luxurious bus by land. Though it was my first time travelling in the night because we started the journey towards the evening time and it was also a very long journey, I had the best time of my life as soon as it was day break. I got to see the morning dews fall as though I was in another world and how it made the green leaves and farms on the roadside flourish and blossom.

And as soon as we got to places like Kaduna and Jos, oh my! I saw the mountains, lakes, big rivers and also the thick forests, it was really a beautiful sight to behold. The way the northerners arrange their ridges and plants fascinated me, truly they do know how to farm on a large space of land and in an orderly manner. I also took note of their culture especially when it comes to where they live and their way of dressing. Thought the era of living in mud houses has passed but I had a good viewing pleasure with what I saw, beautiful bamboo or mud houses where they live with their numerous wives and children and also how their men never forget to wear their head gear (FULA) & caftan and women with their Hijab even while at home. I'm sure I would have not had such an awesome experience if I had travelled by another means.

Furthermore, travelling by land creates room for meeting new people. It is a good medium to get to talk to people, know them. I have made friends that has in turn helped me out in one way or the other when in need. Far back, 2017 while travelling to Abuja by land for a program, I met a woman in the bus, it just started with a normal greeting from me and we started to talk and almost talked till we were half gone, when we finally got to where we were going, we exchanged contacts and that has been it since then. She has been of great help to me especially in money matters and has most times been a mother figure to me.

Also, travelling by land especially while embarking on a long journey has appeared to be the most important time of my life when I get to have a long solemn thought on ideas that would help in my personal growth. Should I say I get lost in my own thoughts while going on a long journey by land? Yes, I do! I love fantasizing so much one of my uncommon hobbies though and truly the fantasies I have while traveling has most times been implemented into action later in life. Of course, the sight tour with nature also contributes greatly to my fantasy鈽猴笍

I have chosen travelling by land as my favorite mode of transportation due to so many other reasons like; being able to buy anything I feel like buying from vendors on the road, actually I enjoy how they sell their goods to passengers through the bus window, really they are very smart. Most especially, I enjoy stopping by at 貌re to buy fresh bananas in big and cheap quantities while travelling from the western part of Nigeria from the East馃槣

Travelling by land is also very affordable as long as I plan very well for it, I'm good to go. The excitement I get while traveling by land would have been more than top notch if there were no bad roads, security issues, traffic and accidents but nonetheless it has been my favorite mode of transportation so far.
