Hello Hivers
Howdy!
I'm glad to be sharing another friday market experience here in #marketfriday initiated by @dswigle. I hope you enjoy reading through and also share yours as well鉂わ笍
It's been a sunny day, no doubts it will be different at the market. I went for my Friday shopping at the local market located in my community at Ilishan Remo, Ogun State.
I almost thought today was the main market day when I got to the market because of how crowdy and noisy it was but my thoughts failed me as it was just a normal Friday market today.
As usual, I don't go shopping without making a list of food items that I would buy from the market. This list was actually made within the week as the thoughts came on what I needed in my house for the weekend 鈽猴笍
From the list above, it's evident that I was all out under the sun today just to shop for vegetables and fruits because it's been a while I made my food with veggies and so the cravings came for the perfect weekend馃構Vegetable sauce and white rice for the weekend wouldn't be a bad idea at all.. yea!
Getting to the market it was so sunny and hot, almost felt like I was purposely roasting myself. Ouuch! it ached really bad
Guess that's why my pretty face sucks in this picture 馃槀
Really, I had to take the bold step to continue the shopping despite the scorching sun.
Firstly, I bought this fresh yellow pepper that was sitting pretty well in the basket. it looked so fresh and got me attracted that I had to change plans of buying from my usual pepper seller to buying from an unusual seller.
I also bought some fresh tomatoes from my usual tomatoes seller. Her orderliness and neatness has won me as her regular customer. I do not buy my fresh tomatoes from any other seller each time I visit my local market because of these amazing qualities she's got.
And just after she packaged the fresh tomatoes and asked..
"Aunty Oyibo, you no go buy fresh pepper?
I smiled and told her "No" because I had bought fresh yellow pepper from an unusual seller already. Her fresh pepper also looks very fresh and attractive but I couldn't just spend more on it.
I headed over to the next shop to buy some fresh cucumbers, carrots and salad pepper. The carrot was quite expensive and very small too. I almost did not buy from this particular seller but changed my mind because I didn't know Where else I could get them in a local market and didn't have the energy to walk about the whole market looking for where to get them while roasting myself under the scorching sun the more馃様 So I just bought it regardless.
I also bought some fresh Pomo "Cow skin meat" for my sauce. I do not have a reason for loving Pomo in my sauce just that it gives the sauce a different taste other than the normal red meat or fresh fish. And I don't forget to cut them into small bits cus it almost feels like the Pomo itself becomes the main focus on my white rice and sauce馃構
Checked my list and discovered I've bought all that I needed to buy. But, I sighted these eggs and remembered I might be needing them during the week for my noodles so I got them with the remaining cash I had. Just bought like 3 though for N200.
Headed to the abokinas to get some watermelon that I could probably used to calm myself a bit after the sunny Friday market shopping day. I'm glad I bought them cus it helped so much.
Friends, that was how my sunny market experience went today. I spent a total of N2,400 to buy these food items for the yummy sauce I'll be making for the weekend 馃構
Did I spend much? oh well! I don't think so cus the shopping was only for me and so didn't have to buy much.
See you in the next #MarketFriday next week!
Have a good weekend lovelies!馃挄
