Is risk strictly on investment and less important on other matters?
With everything you do in life there will be risk involved and also uncertainty.
A risk relates to what you can lose (in the worst case scenario) and is always measurable. For instance when you invest 10k into something and spend a few hours of your time, that's what you can risk to lose in the worst case scenario.
Uncertainty is also involved with everything you do in life but it's something that you can't measure accurately. Uncertainty tells us more about the probability to success. How sure are you that something will succeed?
As a professional investor you have to manage your risks very well in order to succeed, that's why risk management is an important subject in the investment world. Investing is also an activity that might be riskier than what you do normally in your (free) time. When you watch tv you are only risking your time, what's the worst that could happen? Not much. But if you manage a lot of money you have a lot to lose, so managing that risk becomes important. If you are a professional bungee jumper there are also risks involved because worst case scenario you could die. Not everything in life is equally risky.
