Description
Quite often we walk around the Roman walls but this time we took a different path, one that leads towards the village of Silchester itself. Towards the end of this path is an old green wooden building that is probably related to the local church and for a number of years was used as an exhibition space for the Roman ruins. I can remember it well, I used to go in there with my Dad and brother, normally with one of the dogs. The exhibition moved to Reading Museum a long time ago but some of the old signage remains in place. Like a ghost from the past.
