People commemorate the celebration as the "KADAUGAN SA MACTAN". The word "kadaugan" is a Bisaya word which means victory. This momentous celebration in the city of Lapu-Lapu or Mactan is held every April 27, with different Filipino actors playing the role of Lapu-Lapu. Lapu-Lapu is our first Filipino hero who opposed colonial rule. This symbolizes how we fight to live, and showcase true nationalism and patriotism.
