This logo was a rework of an existing Owl logo that was originally created in bitmap format. The original was fairly blurred and pixelated due to being resized, so I was asked to redraw the logo in vector format which can be resized without loosing any definition.
First I created the forehead shape, and subtracted an arrangement of circles from the shape to create the perforated appearance.
A similar approach was used to create the retina too, but ellipses were used in place of circles.
The left side of the face was created first, and them mirrored to ensure the design was symmetrical.
Finally a laser beam was added to the Owls eye, since as everybody knows... Owls can shoot laser beams out of their eyes.
