I don't know about the rest of you but it's getting hard to keep up with everything that's going on. There is development everywhere and all roads lead back to Hive.
This just popped up in my twitter feed today and is just one of many recent announcements from the hiveblocks team on behalf of the community. Over the past year they have been slowly increasing our exposure to the wider crypto world and this looks like a good partnership for the chain.
There is just so much happening around the chain and it's community that i'm going to have to hire an intern to do all of the legwork for me soon to keep on top of things going forward. Give me the headlines every morning and work on from that.
Hive and Hive adjacent projects. They go hand in hand when they are ran by and involve the majority of the community.
While everybody is getting excited this week about the polycub airdrop, myself included. I'm still happily getting free SPS every single day. Then we have a few more on the radar for the coming months.
Some of these will be worth cents but some could be worth dollars. In the bigger picture they will all add something to our accounts.
Those are only the ones that i am going to recieve and know about right now. I know that there are more coming. I'm sure there are ones that i don't even know about yet. (Cubfinance 2nd airdrop, 3rd.....ect.)
We already have the ones that launched in the past few years but with the rise of blockchain gaming this year it seems that more and more teams wanted to get involved in the space. Hive is the best possible chain for blockchain gaming in my opinion with fast, free transactions. Readable wallets and large community.
We're only in March. I know for a fact that there are others in development which haven't been talked about yet. And these are not half arsed scams like a lot of what was released in the last few months on Wax and Ethereum. These look like they mean business.
Proper development teams, solid roadmaps, development work well underway and looking good.
These are constantly chopping and changing but overall we have the same core group of users driving engagement and making this a fun place to be.
Splintertalk and leofinance are driving the concept forward but i'm hoping to see another group follow suit in 2022 and start bringing in external users.
We did see partnerships with groups like scorum last year who have a large sporting community and sites like somee that are building their community separately on the blockchain.
This was always a long term goal of the old development team to onboard full communities. It seems as if we are getting closer to that point and could see it start it happen sooner rather than later.
The gamechanger.
HAF is an application framework for creating highly scalable decentralized apps that operate on the Hive blockchain-based network. With HAF, data from the blockchain network are pushed into a SQL database (PostgreSQL) for easy consumption by HAF apps. This means that HAF-based apps can easily be designed and maintained by database programmers with no previous experience with blockchain-based programming.
Blocktrades team:
The blocktrades team have been very quiet for the most part of this year. In the first year they were dropping developments on the chain on a regular basis but since then it looks like they have put the majority of their focus into creating a platform for every developer to build easily on hive.
What this means in real life terms is that we could become to go to choice for new projects being built in the blockchain space. Up until now it has been hard to build on the blockchain as it is an emerging technology with special knowledge required for a lot of the work.
If this works as outlined, people wanting to build on hive will suddenly have access to tens of thousands of developers in a space where blockchain developers are at a premium.
Combine that with the success of existing projects built or being built on the chain and we have a very interesting year ahead of us.
