One thing I love about us humans is that in the face of adversity, we don’t just back down. We push and find ways and means to make things work out. I mean, people had already been working from home before the Covid era, but that’s was less than a percentage of the total working class. Once we were all under lockdown, we all started to hop on the idea of making work virtual and it did work. Infact, it more than worked because that paved a way to most organizations cutting down on their yearly expenditure because even years after Covid, I know people who still work from home in this day and it’s a win win for all parties.
I for one love the idea of working from home but I don’t wish for it to be an everyday thing. I have friends we work from home full time and they love it. Working from home has become an everyday thing in the working industry and honestly, as much as it helps organizations cut down on cost and also helps individuals make time for other things, the general population is benefiting from it.
Talk about decongestion of our work spaces and even our streets. Since 2023, the traffic on our streets has drastically been reduced as compared to the traffic in 2019. Now, you don’t have to worry much about sitting in traffic for half the day before getting to work. There is traffic each and everyday, but you will get to work in time to start your day as you should.
I don’t know about others but to me, working from home is really serving us in the right way because so many factors come into play when it comes to working remotely. And if we will be honest with ourselves, to some extent productivity has increased a lot as stress from having to journey to work each has been reduced by remote working.
If I had my way, everyone should work from home at least twice a week. This way, they get to work, spend time with family and stay in the comfort of their homes. This improves our mental health a lot and provides a work life balance for us all. In the foreseeable future, I’d like to believe that most institutions will implement more of the work from home policy and more individuals will embrace the idea of working from home.
