That’s a commonly asked question that really cuts to our heart. As a parent myself, I can’t imagine anything like that. But the thing is, I know God has given us free will. Free will is a double-edge sword. Without free will, there would be no capacity for love, but with free will, people can also do horrible things like what you mentioned.

But the thing is, God shows us how much He loves us through Jesus giving His own life for us so that we can live and love.
