Welcome to church! Open Church is a weekly post that aims to be a place where Christians on Steem can hang out, encourage and build up one another, and reflect the love of Christ. The church is not a building, but is made up of people who have been transformed by God’s grace.
Steem and Hive are not all about money, but it’s also a community of real people with real needs. So let us be a community of brothers and sisters that can Truly support one another with our real lives.
Each week I will be putting up a new post with a new topic or theme for discussion. But feel free to come here just to fellowship and be a blessing to one another. Whatever denominational background your from, or if you’re just curious about the Christian faith, everyone is welcome.
So feel free to share a link to your favourite worship song, share a word of encouragement, a prayer request, or introduce yourself.
Today’s theme is: You are the church
With the spread of coronavirus world wide, we are seeing a growing number of churches moving to online services following social gathering restrictions. Although it has been challenging trying to adapt to the new norms, it has also been encouraging to see people starting to rethink what church is. Church isn’t the building we go to, but rather it is us, the people of God redeemed by Jesus.
So feel free to be the church today, and share a word of encouragement, scripture, song or prayer, however you feel led. Would love to hear your stories during these challenging times too.
Blessings
Jimmy
